Nothing much is left, only an R636 and only
one R621 is still there. The first one is clearly visible but is
sealed of from the public. The R621 is buried under the dune sand
and cannot be entered anymore.
There were rumours that these bunkers would
also be demolished. I hope not as they are the only bunkers left
from this railway battery. Or are there others still buried in the
dune sand ?
The battery has been modified quite a few times.
The previous E694 Eisenbahnbatterie was merged with this one holding only
the E690 name. Alhough some guns were already in use from 1941, on
November 15 1943 it had 4X28cm 'kurze Bruno Kanone' with a range of 29.5km.
This old WWI design gun was useless against naval targets.
Bunkertypes: 134K, R607, SK, R612, R613, 5XR621,
4XR622, R636, 2XR667 and an R680.
There were two observation posts for this
battery; one at Wenduine: R636 and at Raversijde: R637.

Unfortunately the concrete is so heavy
it is impossible to enter. Be carefull here. I wouldn't risk my life
in here.
